Jeffrey Ron

Jeffrey emailed me his highest game, compare the two and see the difference. Both ended with 7 pearls but his score is almost 300,000 higher. Big difference in number of stars and bombs exploded. He thinks fast, his game was a little over an hour. Mine was up for 3 or 4 days, I probably put 4 to 6 hours in the game. Doesn't come natural, I plan my strategy. In my defense, I could have scored alittle higher. Uncharted territory for me, wanted to see what would happen when you pearl a star. Duhh .... you win the game. Winning means nothing to me, the goal is to beat my previous high score.

Can anyone beat Jeffrey's game?

Above two pics show the black pearl cluster, a rare sight in the game of Hexic.

My highest scoring game. Played a week after game below - never thought I would beat that score. 350,000 points for clustering the four pearls. I had starred two pearls in this game. Level 5 was 75,000 points and level 6 was 100,000.

Came close to getting bombed out here. Goal was to get my first half million point game. At level 6 you get 150,000 points for winning the game. That meant a minimum 4 pearls and win (cluster 3 pearls). Once red tiles cluster, light blue and green tile drop two in column. Green dropping creates the cluster that gets rid of bomb.

This was uncharted territory for me - trying to star a pearl. What happens and how many points do you get? Left photo I am rotating the star to move orange tile in space. Right shows the move for star.

Short while later a seventh star.

Piggy backed the two stars for placement around pearl. Rotated star to move top right pearl in safe place. I did not know where new pearl would be. Right above starred pearl or on top of column? Comparing the point total in two above pics, a starred pearl in level 7 gives double the points: 100,000.

My luck ran out - nothing I can do about the bomb. There was strategy and risk in positioning pearls to cluster in one move when the inevitable bomb gets down to one and no way of destroying it. The risk was a dark green star bomb cluster from randomly falling tiles. This is my highest point game and first for getting 4 pearls. I still consider myself at intermediate level because winning the game is not consistent - I usually get bombed out trying for the third pearl.
