If you move one tile into two others of same color, you create a cluster. The 3 tiles will disappear and new ones fall down in respective columns. Start of game and we look at highest percentage area for star. Both blue and purple tiles in circle look good. As tiles fall, we will see which will work out better. Right pic is result of green cluster exploding and how tiles fell. Two options, cluster either the blue or purple (both good moves). We will go with the purple, which will drop the red tile (might need that to drop purple in place). We know the lower left purple tile will eventually complete our first star. Making a star out of the top purple tile would be next to impossible. Any purple falling in left column would cluster the left purple tiles and explode left side of potential first star.

Tiles working out real good (strategy working). The third from right column purple tile will drop above red one. Two orange tiles will hold back other purple from creating a cluster. Holy smokes, a change in plans. Look at right pic and the purple, tiles dropped from the orange in left pic clustering. That will be our first star, easy two moves (if no purple tiles fall in second from right column) - will have no effect on the lower potential purple tile star.

Got lucky, green tile fell before a purple. One move away from our first star. Right pic show our first star and next move for second potential star.

Purple dropped as planned. We have our second star. With two potential stars in aligning column areas, we always work on the top first. Viewing right pic you ask, why is that our next move - guess you will have to go to the first pearl page.
